Precious Jade
Happy New Year everyone!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season, ate lots of turkey, and have had a great new year so far!
Jade, the beautiful little pup to the right, would also like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. Jade, named so because she has the most beautiful green eyes, is a survivor, a dog that Pumkin's Promise helped. This little girl is now settled in in her foster home and getting caught up with the pleasures of puppyhood. Thanks to all who support Pumkin's Promise and help dogs just like little Jade receive necessary medical attention. We are all so grateful for your kind support, and the furry ones thank you as well!
Happy New Year everyone!

Updates - R.I.P. and Buy Your Pumkin's Promise Wristband Today!
An update!
With Christmas on its way, things are getting busy but I'd like to take this moment to remember Jacob, Viola, and Jazz who recently passed from Parvo. They were just wee pups who were brought up from Louisiana, but their little bodies just couldn't handle it anymore. There were three other pups in the litter: Louis, who didn't get sick at all, and Presley and George, who both beat Parvo.
R.I.P. Sweet babies.
Also, to keep the Thanksgiving spirit going, we'd like to thank the Urban Dog Market (www.urbandogmarket.com) for inviting us to be part of their art sale, Colleen for her generous donation and recent volunteer work, and everyone who supported us during the craft sale. Thank you!
Now, the red and green decorations are all pretty, but how about going ORANGE for Pumkin's Promise? Wristbands, which can be seen on the poster, can be purchased on the Furever After website (www.fureverafter.org) using Paypal. Simply scroll down to the Patriotic Pets Photo and right below, there's a Paypal Donate button. Wristbands are $4 CAD each (free shipping and handling), with all proceeds going to fund the medical treatment of rescued dogs. In the description line, please put the number of wristbands you wish to purchase. They have "Pumkin's Promise" on one side, "Save Heal Love" on the other, and on the inside the www.fureverafter.org website is printed. And, of course, thank you!!!

Welcome to the Pumkin's Promise Blog!
Welcome to the Pumkin's Promise blog!
Pumkin's Promise was a fund established in memory of a little Yorkshire Terrier Mix named Pumkin (yes, "Pumkin", not "Pumpkin"). Little Pumkin was found tied to a tire in Louisiana and Furever After Rescue (www.fureverafter.org) brought her to Calgary, Canada. Pumkin tested positive for heartworm and preliminary tests and x-rays indicated a leg that had been broken was set with pins that were so large they dug into her muscle and skin. It was also discovered that her liver was dysfunctional and producing large amounts of bile. Moreover, additional chest x-rays found that the worms had not only infested her heart, but also many of her tiny organs. Therefore, after consultations with the rescue’s vets, the decision was made that it was all too much for this little girl and she was sent to the Bridge on June 17th, 2006.
In memory of Pumkin, Pumkin’s Promise was established through Furever After Rescue Society to raise funds for the medical treatment of rescued dogs and to raise awareness of the devastating disease that claimed Pumkin‘s life. Here, you can see how such a sweet little girl touched so many people in such a short time and find out what's going on with Pumkin's Promise!
